President's Message

Spring is so wonderful in the garden! Right now I feel there are too many dormant plants in my yard and I want to replace them with things that grow all year long. But in a few weeks, those dormant plants will look the most beautiful with their new leaves and flowers, and I won’t be able to bring myself to replace them. As our gardens seem to be energized in the spring, we all get that feeling also.
It’s hard to believe, but it’s that time of year to think about elections for the Ramona Garden Club Executive Board. This consists of president, vice president, secretary, and treasurer. The slate of nominations will be announced at the April meeting and voting will take place in May. So at our March meeting you will be asked for any nominations or volunteers to run for a position. Please consider serving in one of these positions. It’s a rewarding job, and it’s always good for clubs to get new people involved, with new ideas. There are also many committees you can serve on that are listed in this newsletter. The success of any club depends on the dedication and contribution of its members.

Happy Spring!

Debbie Gomez

Petals for Patriots
topleft topfill topright
Petals for Patriots is a program designed by floral designer David Root. The flowers are donated by Dos Gringos in Vista. Ramona Garden Club has promised to participate in this endeavor for the months of August and September. We will pick up the flowers at Dos Gringos, drive to a friend’s house in Oceanside where we will prepare 15 similar arrangements, load them into a car, and deliver them to a barracks for Wounded Warriors at Camp Pendleton. If you are interested in participating in this, please e-mail Barbara Kinder at kindride@sbcglobal.net Dragonfly™
